Webster Elementary Nurse

Dear Webster Elementary Parents,

I would like to take a moment and introduce myself and let you know that I am going to be the nurse taking care of Webster Elementary 2025-2026 school year.

I am working on going through medical conditions. I may be contacting you in regards to your child.  At times, I just need to know a little bit more about medical conditions or medications they may be taking while away from home.

Webster Elementary has Sneak Peek coming up.  I would like to invite parents to come meet me, drop off medications or fill out paperwork and show your student how to get to my office.  I am excited for a new year to start and to learn about your children and what they may need when they are away from you.

Please note:

If your child has any medications that will need to be taken during the school day, or if you have an AS NEEDED medication (Tylenol, Motrin, Benadryl, or other meds.) I will need the medication, along with a signed medication administration record form before I am able to administer medication to your child.  This includes emergency medication, such as inhalers and Epi-pens. Medication must be unexpired and in the original container with the original prescription label. (a copy of this can be made for my records if you need the original container back).

If your child has a serious health concern (seizures, diabetes, asthma, anaphylaxis, and any other medical conditions.) I need to speak with you prior to your student's first day of attendance. We can have this meeting at Sneak Peek or you are welcome to call me at 417-859-2120 ext 3040, or email me at shannon.crumm@mjays.us.

If your child has a fever, vomiting, or diarrhea, please keep them at home this year.  They are welcome to return to class when they have been fever free for 24 hours and without fever reducing medications.  Same for diarrhea, they must be free from symptoms for 24 hours before returning to school.

I recommend bringing a pair of close-toed shoes for your child to keep at school for gym days, as well as a change of clothes (season appropriate) in case of accidents.  If you feel like they need more than one change of clothing, we have access to storage.  Please write a name on the bag so we know who it belongs to.  If your child has some bowel or urinary issues, please feel free to contact me and we can keep some clothing and supplies in my office for their comfort and easy access to change.

I look forward to meeting you and your children! Thank you in advance for allowing me to care for your child's healthcare needs during school.

Have a wonderful school year!
